Scent of You

One thing about you still remains
Naught of blames inhumed in shames.
If I should in soulfulness die
One thing still makes me to cry;
The fragrance you used to stay
Remains wholesome till today
But as the farness from you grows,
My once blitheful heart slows.
Now, same scent just linger\'d by-
Now I long only for you and I
In dreams we shared ere the wake
When our souls \'most crossed the lake.
Now all I do is console my bone,
Talkin\' to strange things \'neath the sun,
My hands fill\'d with flowers of jasmine
All in the bid to recall our past being-
To cherish the words we used to say
Like, \"I smile\" and times we used to pray...
Tired and emotion\'l are the memories now
Weaved from my own blood any how
But one thing about you still remains
The scent of you will still remain.

LOL. I did not even understand the poem. How am I supposed to complement on what I have no idea what it means   I guess my block head has nothing for poems.     I\'m kidding...Dozie, dude, you got some cool stuff. I even see that it is copyrighted...is it really?

Anyway, on Amaka\'s comment, I don\'t think GSSO guys life revolve around winning a girl\'s heart.  We do stuff or mostly do stuff because it\'s appropriate, not because we want to get a lady\'s attention.  Besides some of us are married or engaged to marry, so that\'s out of the question.  Oh, oh, I think I see where you\'re coming from...you mean towards the lady of one\'s life :D

Anyway, let me put one down and show that even I have a thing or two (this is not to win a girl\'s heart before njakiri aburu ihe ozo:twisted: !)

It looked like only a moment ago,
I woke up after the D-Day,
I realized that my dream was true,
I have won the invaluable prize of my search,
You were there beside me,
A separate individual yet the same,
A miracle has taken place that changed me forever.

It looked like only a moment ago,
I woke up to a sound,
A sound that belonged to the most peaceful state of a person,
We had to nurture it,
You gave her milk and I went shopping for diapers,
I came back and we looked into each other\'s eye,
A second went by, a minute went by,
We smiled as the baby was fast-asleep again or so I thought,
An incredible miracle has taken place again that changed us forever.

It looked like only a moment ago,
I listened to how I\'ve wronged you occasionally,
I sincerely apologized and resolved to do better,
You smiled and told me that you will help me,
I looked up to the sky and said \"Lord, what did I do to merit this awesome woman!\"
You laughed and at that instant, I remained the happiest man,
I remembered the tough times and sincerely proclaimed
\"What a miracle. I love you my darling\"
Another miracle has taken place...
...Lord may we end life loving and serving you always. AMEN

There you go!  So how\'s my weak attempt...this was done impromptu :D    Enjoy the Halloween 8)

wow! some good stuff here! nice one dozie

hm....uzoma!! na u biko. good stuff. didnt know u were talented in that area.

is it true that guys that write poems are normally romantic?? anyone?
Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I was an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn\'t seem quite so funny.

LOL.  Chizor, many-a-times, it\'s likely the case that those guys are romantic who write poems...however, let\'s not get fooled. Guys who write poems does not equal romantic guys   As for me, I think  SHE knows, LOL

Just thought i should share this, and oh.. it is so copyrighted lol... although it might not make sense to some people.

When all she?s got was beauty.

It was the first month of August:
Each day passes like an unseen ghost.
The birds in the tree singing she hears,
Like every breath she takes in fears.
Thinking she\'s loosing her beauty,
She hoped summer blows and passes away,
Like the breeze coming from the shore afar.
As she lays in bed sick and in pain,
She thought her deeds were all in vain.
She has a world of ready wealth and beauty,
But ?Tis a dull face breathed by health and pain.
Yet everyone thought she had it all assured,
For she smiles at every face that comes across.

To her alone came a sudden thought of grief,
A timely utterance gave that thought of relief.
And then she realized she\'s not alone,
When she felt a cold touch in her soul.
And then she heard the pleasant voice say,
Rise up, my love, my fair and beautiful one,
For, lo\' the summer is almost gone,
For beauty is yet not all you?ve got.
The sun shines because of your humor,
And the heaven pours rain to see you smile.
The children are waiting in the sand to play,
And I have been staring at your face so pale.
It\'s hard to bid the summer adieu
And I can?t wait my love to say I do.
For your presence my lady makes the roses red,
You are as fair and sweet and tender,
And beauty inside of you breaks sorrow asunder.

But lo? its fall again once more,
It?s hard to remember how it felt before,
Memories of past seemed so long ago
Time always kills mischievous pain.
Oh, it?s great to feel this way sometimes,
It reminds you of how far you?ve come,
And many hearts so broken when you are gone
For shared happiness is a doubled happiness.
So why worry about outward beauty
When you can change the world with inner beauty.
Why worry about where you would be tomorrow,
When God?s desire, is to take away your sorrow.
He knows when you are iniquitous, like a rag in a hanger,
For he is holy, forgiving, and slow to anger.
Arise my precious one arise for sure
Making others happy is a heavenly treasure.

I\'ll leave this for a good guess.

A candid poem:

I\'ve been loved by the best
I can\'t settle now for less
Why bother with the rest

I\'ve been to the top i guess
With my lady i\'ve been blessed
I won\'t take nothing less
I\'ve been loved by the best.

Just Love the rhyme.

To Chizor, talking about guys who are romantic, how about those who play piano/organ very well. :D   Guess who\'ll be taking classes to impress? NOT ME BEFORE ONE THING ABURU MULTIPLE THINGS  ...I just wanted to write that

Umu nwanne m nwoke, kedu ebe unu no? A simple task as writing poems is looking difficult for us...Is this GSSO we are talking about or what? I hope there\'s no one here that got F9 in English...alright bros, prove it!

I\'ll drop another short poem:

...
I have considered and re-considered,
I was mercilessly left in the forest,
I believe I saw you or so I thought,
In the thick of the forest, you were,
How could the Creator put you there,
Why must I suffer to find you,
I was there whacking through the bushes,
I came across similar creatures, but I believed it wasn\'t you,
I persisted that it wasn\'t you and moved on,
Rain, thunderstorm and even snowstorms came along,
I persisted, funny enough, by our Creator\'s Graces too,
The best part: you waited for me, a mere creature like me or so I thought,
Then I reached you, I reached your heart,
Then I realized why the Creator has made things that way,
You are a PRIZE to be won, not a gift,
Good things come to those who wait and persist,
By His power has this been done but WE had to take the initiative
.

That\'s it folks!  Much love!  I didn\'t say this is my story, so don\'t get all juiced up about nothing    Just read AS IT IS and don\'t be drawing conclusions   :D
