I have never liked boxing, don\'t understand why men like it so much. How is it fun to watch two people beat themselves senseless, and even get bloodied up. Can you imagine if we were ants and some bigger animal was watching us cheer people on who are killing themselves, how we\'d look, we\'d look so pitiful.   ... Oh well, I guess that\'s what makes men men, or rather boys boys, gets the testesterone going! .  8)

But it\'s all good, as long as it was a Nigerian that won!

Mike Tyson\'s corner threw in the towel in the sixth round on Saturday night, ending the aging former champ\'s match with lightly regarded Kevin McBride

Do you think is time for Mike to throw in his towel???

Men I was heart broken to see my favourite boxer on the canvas one last time. Regardless of what happened he is still my hero and will always be. The one and only boxing sensation of our time. I\'m glad he\'s finally called it quits, like he said he doesn\'t have anything to prove and does not want to disgrace the sport.

How could I have forgotten to reply to  this post.  I have a weird confession to make: there was a boxing knockout classic that I watched once on the sport channel, ESPN (if my memory serves me right).  In the classic, two pugilist experts - well one really isn\'t  much of an expert - were boxing. One was  lanky while the other was short and roundlike  .  For some reason during the match, the short one decided to rush into the tall one.  I guess he\'s gotten enough punishment without return due to his relatively short wingspan.  Anyway, the result was a well-placed punch square in the face of the short one.  For goodness sake, I laughed myself to stupor because of what happened afterwards.  It was like the short man was shocked by a high-voltage electrical outlet...he shook up, turned around, and ran the opposite direction with inconsistent footsteps (just like a baby) before falling flat on the canvas.

Now, I find that scene very funny   but that brings me to a question: is boxing really okay?  I mean it\'s a sport, but is it really okay for one to get into it.  I mean imagine that the short man is likely a husband and father...how will the wife and/or kids see this terrifying moment of the man\'s life.  :?

It was really exciting to see Floyd Mayweather Jr. do his thing on saturday night. He showed great class and speed as he floored Mitchell in the sixth round. I had predicted a 4th round knock out after round one, but Mitchell bravely held on until he was stopped in the 6th with a shot to the body.

  I\'ve heard of Floyd Mayweather Jr. but who is Mitchell?

Anyway, on a different boxing-related news, the \"Greatest\", Muhammad Ali, just got a museum completed for him in his hometown Louisville, Kentucky.  That is a kind of man that boxing has been lacking for ages...in fact, I don\'t know if they\'ll have someone like him again in the near future.
