has anyone here read PURPLE HIBISCUS by Chimamanda Adichie? she just got an international writers award for the book and it was well deserved. actually why i\'m so proud of her work is not just dat she\'s from naija o but her style is quite different from other female naija writers(even though i thoroughly enjoy d seemingly feminist stories). she says Chinua Achebe is her mentor and i think i see d link, simple ......engaging... from start to finish.
just for d records ...i\'m not her agent or promoter. it\'s a book dat would appeal to many.i\'d like to hear your opinions (dat is after u must have read it sha)

Thanks for clearing things up, Chinelo.  For a moment there, I thought we have another Oprah Book Club in our hands.  It probably would have been better if you were her agent, that way, we know that a sister\'s got some benefit off my reding, ha ha ha haaah!

Seriously, though, is there an online version of the book?  If not, where can it be bought here in the US?  You have poked at my curiousity.

I haven\'t read it but from the way u describe the book, i\'ld have to read it.... I never knew OBJ ( presido) wrote books, i had called up a friend of mine in 9ja and she had told me she was reading a book by Obj. I cant seem to find d book, jus wanna read it out of curiosity....Oh welll.......

yeah, THE  ANIMAL CALLED MAN dats d title. i haven\'t read it sha but i wonder how d book would turn out considering how he tabons when speaking. i\'m sure someone would have done d real writing for him.
they all have books- Wagbara\'s  THIS IS WHERE I STAND (which should make an interesting read at dis point of his life)and d rest ...(all of whom i simply can\'t remember now)
